CFP course fees in India

The number first, because that is what you came for. Everything else on this page explains what moves it.

Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh

Approximate total for CFP certification coaching at IIFC, including discount coupons worth Rs 16,250

What puts you at one end of that range or the other is which pathway you take. The regular pathway runs a full year and covers all six examined modules from first principles. The fast track pathway runs six months and is open to experienced BFSI professionals who qualify for challenge status, so there is less to sit through.

We share the exact figure for your pathway, the payment schedule and the next batch dates on your counselling call. There is no fee to have that call and no obligation to enrol.

What the fee covers

Coaching, materials and support through the whole programme. Certification body charges are separate and are paid to FPSB India directly.

How CFP compares on cost

The three qualifications most people weigh against each other before choosing one. CFP is the least expensive of the three and has the highest pass rate.

Is it worth the money

India has 3,534 certified financial planners. FPSB wants 10,000 by 2027-28.

FPSB India, December 2025

Typical earnings for CFP professionals in India run between Rs 8 and Rs 15 lakh a year within three years of certifying. Top performers at wealth firms cross Rs 25 lakh. Against a course cost of roughly Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh, that is a payback measured in months rather than years. And the supply picture is the reason. There is a gap of about 6,500 certified planners to fill in under three years, while banks and wealth firms are already hiring advisers faster than the certified pool is growing. IIFC alumni now hold senior positions at HDFC Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, SBI MF, Franklin Templeton, Nippon AMC, Axis Bank, ICICI Securities and Centrum Wealth.

CFP fees, common questions

How much does the CFP course cost in India?

CFP certification coaching at IIFC costs approximately Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh in total, including IIFC discount coupons worth Rs 16,250. The exact figure depends on whether you take the one year regular pathway or the six month fast track pathway. Registration and examination charges are set by FPSB India and paid to them separately.

Why is the CFP fee given as a range rather than one number?

The CFP fee at IIFC is a range because the two pathways cover different amounts of the curriculum. The regular pathway teaches all six examined modules over a year. The fast track pathway is for experienced BFSI professionals with challenge status and runs six months, so there is less to sit through. IIFC confirms the exact figure for your pathway on the counselling call.

Is CFP cheaper than CFA or an MBA?

Yes, considerably. CFP certification costs roughly Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh, a CFA runs to between Rs 3.5 and Rs 6.5 lakh across three levels, and an MBA at a top IIM starts around Rs 25 lakh. CFP also has the highest pass rate of the three at around 65%, against 45% at CFA Level 1.

Are the exam fees included in the course fee?

No. The IIFC course fee covers coaching, materials, recordings, mock papers and mentor support. Registration and examination charges for CFP certification are set by FPSB India and paid to FPSB directly. IIFC confirms the current amounts on your counselling call, since FPSB revises them periodically.

Do I pay per module or for the whole programme?

The IIFC fee covers the full programme rather than being charged module by module. The CFP examination itself is taken module by module, with each of the six modules being a three hour paper sat at an NSE centre or remote proctored, and exam windows opening every two months.

Can the fee be paid in instalments?

IIFC shares the available payment schedule on the counselling call, alongside the exact fee for your pathway and the next batch dates. Ask about instalments when you speak to a mentor and you will get a direct answer rather than a form to fill in.

Is there a discount available?

The IIFC fee already includes discount coupons worth Rs 16,250 rather than adding them on afterwards, so the Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh figure is the net amount. Institutional batches for wealth and channel partner teams are priced by arrangement.

Does the CFP fee pay for itself?

CFP professionals in India typically earn between Rs 8 and Rs 15 lakh a year within three years of certifying, and top performers at wealth firms cross Rs 25 lakh. Against a course cost of roughly Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh, the payback period is measured in months rather than years.

Who should I contact about IIFC fees?

You can reach IIFC on +91 82838 42598, on the Chandigarh landline 0172 4654862, by email at harminder.garg@iifcedu.in, or on WhatsApp. Requesting a callback on this page gets a mentor calling you within one working day with the full fee structure.
